This Privacy Policy explains how Atrus Ltd (“Atrus”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the RockWise mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

• We do not require user accounts.
• We do not store personal data on our servers.
• Images are processed to provide analysis but are not retained by us.
• All scan history and results are stored locally on your device only.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use RockWise, you may choose to upload or capture images of rocks, minerals, or gemstones. These images are used solely to generate analysis results for you.

We do not require you to provide names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information to use the Service.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

RockWise does not collect analytics profiles, behavioural tracking data, or advertising identifiers. Limited technical information (such as basic error logs) may be processed transiently for app stability and debugging, but this information is not used to identify individual users.

3. How Images Are Processed

To provide rock and mineral identification, RockWise sends submitted images to a third-party artificial intelligence service (currently provided by OpenAI) for analysis.

Important clarifications:

• Images are transmitted securely for the sole purpose of generating analysis results.
• Atrus Ltd does not store these images on its own servers.
• Analysis results are returned to your device and stored locally on-device only.
• We do not associate images with identifiable users.

Third-party processing is governed by the applicable third-party provider’s privacy and data handling policies.

4. On-Device Storage

All scan history, analysis results, and any related content are stored locally on your device. This data remains under your control and can be removed by deleting the app or clearing local data.

Atrus Ltd has no access to your on-device stored data.

5. How We Use Information

Information is used solely to:

• Provide and operate the RockWise Service
• Generate identification and analysis results
• Improve app reliability and performance

We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
